This card is call a gate fold card. It is a little labor intensive so I won’t be making many more of these for a while. I used Cajun Craze ink on the composition specialty DSP and colored the clay buttons with vanilla craft ink.
I think it is hard to tell but the card stock that I used for the base is our new Smokey Slate. I also used it in the sentiment and in the flower embellishment. For some reason my camera hasn’t been taking very good pictures lately. Or maybe it’s the photographer (me) that doesn’t know how to use it. LOL
Love this stamp set, it is on page (82) in the new catalog.
This stamp is actually an image that I removed from the jumbo wheel (page 11) so that I could use it like a stamp and color the candles with our markers. Very easy to do and SU sells the Clear Mount Cling foam backing (page 197) to convert them. Notice the really cool image that you get by applying our foam to the back of the stamp.
Okay, I know that’s what you are wondering…. Well, I entered a private Christmas swap for Salt Lake City Convention in July and was searching for Christmas stamps that I could use. Although, some did get carried over from last year’s Holiday catalog, they are ones that I have used over and over and am not looking forward to using them again so soon.
New Christmas stamps don’t come out until August in the Holiday mini and I didn’t want to wait for them, even though we (Demos) can get them the 1st of July. So, after I made this card, I realized this was way too labor intensive and I was not going to do 16 of them for the swap. I contacted the person, that organized the swap, and dropped out of the Christmas swap. They usually have a long list of people waiting to get in, if someone drops, so I wasn’t worried about leaving a blank space.
I love this new Chalk Talk Bundle. It has the most awesome framelits to cut out all the senitment stamps in this set (page 12). The postage stamps are from the hostess set “Postage Collection” that you can get by hosting a $150 workshop. Contact me HERE to find out more.
I wanted to show off the beautiful designer papers in the Venetian Romance pack along with the fancy new in-c0lor ribbon. This ribbon is stretchable and you get tons of it on a roll. It comes in all the new 2013-2015 in-colors. Also, the sentiment and the cut out label is from the new Chalk Talk bundle. So cool!
What does this remind you of? I know have a Starbucks gift card in the house somewhere and I guess I will treat my self to something special for my birthday! Cut the sentiment out with the Artisan punch (new). Don’t you just love this new color Baked Brown Sugar? This set lends itself well to masculine cards, don’t cha think?
I created this card with the new set Flower Shop and the new Pansy punch. Also new colors, Crisp Cantelope and Bermuda Bay. In addition, I used the new molding clay and colored the inside if the flower with Crisp Cantelope. You can make the new soft molding clay any color you want using our reinkers.
This card I created with the background stamp Pleasant Poppies. I cut out the blossoms and re-arranged them on the honeycombed base to change it up a little. This set is made for water coloring if you like that technique. However, I colored this with my aqua painters but used whisper white card stock instead of watercolor paper. You just have to make sure that you don’t soak the paper like you would with W/C paper. Try it, it’s fun!
