These are some of the handmade tags that I am bringing to Bishops Boutique Fund Raiser at Bishop England School on the 5th of December.  Some I made with retired product but a great way to use up scraps.

The sentiment stamp is new and is from the Best of November Set.  So are these little guys.  These are not new but from and old set of Hedgehogs that SU brought back.  Love it!

Two of my favorite crafty things are stamps (of course)—and my Big Shot! And I love layers, so it’ll come as no surprise that I’m in my happy stamping place when stamps have coordinating Framelits (US/CAN)! Since the Be Merry and Wonderful Blessing Single Stamps both have a matching Framelit, I was excited to create something to share with you using these two stamps!
http://www.stampinup.com/home/images/default-source/corporate-blog-posts/more_than_just_cards1.jpg?sfvrsn=0

The Be Merry stamp—featuring ‘to/from’ lines and the hot and trendy chalkboard look—makes a perfect gift tag. Cut it out with the matching Chalk Talk Framelit, and this ensemble becomes a cinch to use for creating all the tags you’ll need for Christmas gift-giving this year!
more_than_just_cards2

I like to create multiples of whatever I’m making so that I have at least one to keep as a sample and some to give away. This got me thinking that this tag would make a perfect gift for a teacher, neighbor, or hostess if bundled in a larger quantity and packaged up nicely! So I stamped a set of 10 tags and created this box using the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack and a Window Sheet. I wrapped the Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon around the Window Sheet sleeve and tucked the bow through a fancied-up tag on the outside of the box. I kept the rest of the tags simple and will gift the set with a White Stampin’ Chalk Marker so that the recipient is all set for gift-giving!

more_than_just_cards3

When I saw the Wonderful Blessing Single Stamp I thought it was the perfect image for a Christmas ornament—and then the thought of creating a dual-purpose card/ornament came to mind. (I do love when one creation can serve two purposes!) And when all you are giving someone is a card—sometimes you want to make it just a little bit more. This card can do that for you!

more_than_just_cards4

I stamped the World Map Background Stamp on the Naturals White Cardstock using Midnight Muse ink, stamping off three times. Then I layered the Naturals White 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock onto the Midnight Muse card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I left the top mostly open so that the ornament could slide in and out.

This ornament will look beautiful on a Christmas tree with twinkling lights shining through the White Vellum Cardstock. It would also work really nicely in a paper luminary.

more_than_just_cards5

To achieve the colored/embossed image on the vellum layer, I first inked the Peace on Earth stamp using VersaMark, applied Midnight Muse ink right on top of that, then stamped it onto the Vellum. (I heat-set it using Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder to keep it from smudging . . . and to give it a nice shine!) I also used the Circle Framelits and Silver Glimmer Paper to frame the opening in the card as well as the ornament.

I’ve already got at least a few special people on my list to receive this card!

Now, imagine switching the stamped image out for a photo of your family. That would make a great photo ornament/card! The possibilities for this stamp—and for the layout and style of this card—really are endless!

Everyone wants to know what can you do with the Bigs Die Bow maker other than a bow?  How about this Wreath, designed by A SU demonstrator, Tanya Bell.  She is also the one who designed the little angel that we made at tags, bags and box class this month.  She used our DSP Season of Style.  This picture was taken from her blog.

This was another card we made at this months clubs.  Everyone loved it.  I got the idea from another demonstrator on Stampin’ Connection (gallery for SU Demonstrators)  Billie Moan.  I changed it up a bit and I thank you Billie for the inspiration.  The stamp set is Joyful Christmas and can be found on page 27 of the Holiday catalog.  I used Baked Brown Sugar DSP and Early Espresso.

I love this stamp set Santa’s List (pg 31 Holiday catalog) because he is so vintage looking and y’all know how I love Vintage.  I used soft suede and blossom blush on our Santa and Sweater Weather DSP.  I also used soft sky card stock.  The sentiment is from Oh, Goodie found on page 32 in the Holiday catalog.  If you were a member of one of my clubs, you got to make this card this month.

THE BEST OF SNOW STAMP SET
So, how many of you like snow? I have to admit that I really do . . . at least the idea of snow. It is so pretty when it is falling, and where I live in Virginia, it doesn’t stick around too long. Seeing my boys building a snowman or sledding always makes me so happy. But then there is the shoveling and the driving in it and then it gets icy and slushy. So I have a better solution . . . stamped snow! We all know that Stampin’ Up’s snow stamps are amazing and I’m so excited to share the new Best of Snow Stamp Set with you.

su-nov-blog---1

When I saw the pretty snowflake, I immediately thought about glitter. And not just any glitter, but the Silver Stampin’ Glitter from the holiday catalog. This naturally led me to consider the Sliver Glimmer Paper, too—or even better, putting them together. So I chose both the snowflake and the new Let It Snow stamp from the set for this card . . . and got glittery! I inked Let It Snow with a Midnight Muse Classic Stampin’ Pad and stamped on Whisper White Cardstock. While the stamp coordinates with the Label Bracket Punch, I chose to cut it out so that there was no border on the stamp. Then I cut a snowflake out of Sliver Glimmer Paper using the Festive Flurry Framelit Dies. Using another of the Framelits, I cut a snowflake from Whisper White Cardstock and then stamped that layer with the snowflake from the new stamp set. Using VersaMark ink first, I applied Heat and Stick Powder followed by Silver Stampin’ Glitter. After popping up the middle snowflake and the Let It Snow stamp with Stampin’ Dimensionals, we have a pretty and oh, so sparkly celebration of snow—with none of the clean up!

su-nov-blog---3

The last little snowman looks a lot like his hedgehog friend ! So very cute! I thought this stamp was a great match with the Chalk Talk Framelit Dies. I inked up the stamp with an Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad. Again I used a Blender Pen and Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler inks to color the image. Then I cut it out with the Framelit, (cutting a second, identical shape from Early Espresso Cardstock). I snipped the Early Espresso layer in half and placed it behind the stamped image to create a framing effect. The Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack and the Season of Style Designer Washi Tape were the perfect background for our adorable pair. I added a sentiment from Petite Pairs and topped it off with a Neutrals Designer Button tied with Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine.

I hope you enjoy these projects and I know you will love getting this new set. And maybe, just maybe, this will help you get really excited about snow!

Stamps:  Memo Medley – Paper Pumpkin

Ink:  Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Gumball Green

Paper:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Accessories and Tools:  1″ Circle Punch, Paper Snips

I am the kind of person who likes to have lists.  Not big lists.

Tasks.

I am the kind of person who likes to have tasks.

Wait.

I know what I DO like—I like to see COMPLETED tasks. I like to look back and see that I’ve completed a lot of different tasks.

I am also the kind of person who likes cute notes. I know this might surprise some people but I actually like really simple notes. Like, only-one-stamp kind of notes. I know, right??!!

When I saw the Paper Pumpkin for October I was really excited to create my own little notes and task lists. I have apps on my phone for all of these things but I forget to look at them. I’d rather have a cute little note to pull out at the grocery store instead of having to look at my phone over and over.

I also love the idea of sending a cute note to excuse my kids from school. Or a cute note to write to the teacher about anything. Everything is so much better on a cute note, right?

Also, what about a note to my kids?

Or my fantastic husband?

My notes aren’t huge. The Whisper White notes are 2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and the Crumb Cake notes are 3-1/2″ x 4-1/2″. They’re easy to slip in a suit pocket or a lunch sack.

So whip up a bunch of these babies so you’ve got them on hand.

Cute and simple.

Who can resist?

I used the painter’s tape technique on this card and love the way it turned out.  Colors I used were Crisp Cantalope, Pistachio Pudding, and Soft Sky.  This technique is so popular right now, it’s not hard to look on any paper crafting site without seeing it.  I think this stamp set really lends itself to this technique.

The Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit may have been created with treat- giving in mind, but don’t let that stop you from exploring other possibilities!

From this kit, I’ve used the tags as my banner background pieces. To compliment my Halloween theme, I added some small pieces of Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper and stamping with the Halloween Hello Stamp Set. Hocus Pocus is spelled out using the ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers Stamp Set.

I plan to hang my little banner using tiny clothespins from my local craft store and some Linen Thread.

What else have you made with Goodie Gear?

I love this set, mainly because I love to color.  How can you make a simple little drawing look so elegant….load it with bling and some white highlights.  This set would be a great set to use with your children or grandchildren for Christmas cards.  So easy and so much fun!

Okay, today I am back from visiting my little girl, Mary Pat, and her parents in TN.  She is my only grandchild, so far.

When I stamped this card with the states I thought about going half way across the country, and that would be to Houston for Leadership in January.  I never thought to use it for TN.  I think from now on whenever I am going to be out of town I will post this stamp so you can know where I am at all times.  You know that with an email HERE you can reach me anytime no matter where I am.  These photopolymer stamps are not in the catalogs but you can get a flyer on all of them that SU releases from me.

This is one of those cards that is so easy to put together, but looks like you spent a lot of time on it.  I used the set Remembering Christmas on page 28 of the Holiday Catalog. I used the Big Shot with the Apothecary Accents to cut out the frame for the Deer.   The DSP is from Season of Style Paper Stack, also in the Holiday catalog on page 22.

I am at my daughter’s house in TN and she has made these headstones for her front yard.   I just wanted y’all to see how talented she is.  I was amazed what a great job she did.  She used styrofoam and spray painted them.  Of course, this is my beautiful little grand daughter in the yard with them.  Also note, the final score of the Clemson /Georgia game, that she just had to create a headstone to rub it in.  LOL

I have been using the Mosaic embossing folder for the back ground on a lot of my Christmas Cards.  I like the way it kind of resembles a Christmas ornament.  This set is called Wishing you and can be found in the Holiday catalog on page 23.  This set can be used for birthdays too just by changing the color of the presents and the sentiment.  Actually, if you emboss them with silver or gold you can use them for Weddings and Anniversaries also.  You can get a lot of mileage from this one set.

I created this card with the “Best of Christmas” stamp set.  You can get these sets until March 2014 and then they will be gone.  If you purchase at least 6 of ‘The Best’ of Sets you can get any stamp set in either catalog valued at 14.95 or below.  They are stamps that are being brought back because of SU’s 25th Anniversay.  I love that I remember so many of these stamps and how much I like them.  Unfortunately I didn’t keep most of them because I try to sell all my retired sets every year.  So when they started this ‘Best of’ I jumped right on it.  Contact ME to find out more.
