Connie is one of my favs from the team and I love what she did here:

Cutie Pie Beach Party

Summertime is fun time and what better time for a beach-themed birthday party? I’m going to show you how to make this adorable beach ball and matching tag using the Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies (item 138273) and the Big Shot (item 143263).

1

First, you’ll need to die cut and assemble 10 pie boxes using the Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies. I recommend using Whisper White Thick Cardstock (item 140272) along with Daffodil Delight (item 119683), Cucumber Crush (item 138335), Pacific Point (item 111350), Tangerine Tango (item 111349), and Real Red Cardstock (item 102482).

2

Next, cut a template for the top of the box using the same die. Trace around the edges of some coordinating polka dot paper from the Brights (item 138434) and 2015–2017 In Color (item 138432) Designer Series Paper Stacks and cut by hand.

3

Glue the triangles to the top of the coordinating box.

4

Glue the sides of the boxes together to form a circle. Place a white box in between each of the colored boxes. (It’s easier to work in sections.)

5

Die cut two 2-15/16″ circles from Whisper White Thick Cardstock. Stamp the word “Sunshine” from the Crazy about You Stamp Set (item 138859) on one of the circles in Tangerine Tango ink (item 126946); glue it to the center of the box where the triangles come to a point. Glue the second circle to the center of the back for added stability. Die cut the word “Hello” from Pacific Point Cardstock using the Hello You Thinlits Dies (item 137363) and adhere it to the circle. Cut a small flower and leaves using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies (item 141497).

6

To create the matching tag, cut 10 triangles using the small triangle from the Cutie Pie Thinlits Dies.

7

Glue the pieces (in the same order as before) to a piece of thin white copy paper. (Hint: Save one of the white triangles for last—just in case some of the edges don’t line up exactly.)

8

Use the same circle die as before to die cut a circle from the center. (You’ll have a lot of waste, so you may want to cut shorter triangles for future tags now that you know how big the pieces need to be.) Die cut an additional circle from Whisper White Thick Cardstock and glue it to the back of the tag for added stability. Use a 3/4″ Circle Punch (item 119873) to create the center of the tag from a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock. Punch a small hole in the top of the tag using a 1/8″ Circle Punch (item 134365) and tie the tag to the top of a 2″ x 8″ Cellophane Bag (item 141703) filled with colorful gumballs using Linen Thread (item 104199).

9

Finally, make some coordinating flowers from the same supplies using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies (item 140625).

10

These projects are easy enough that you can get the kids involved, too. Have fun crafting this summer!

I am so glad they carried over the PP set Endless Thanks, page 42.  I needed to send out a thank you to one of my customers and wanted to use the set, Swirly Bird, page 152, and grabbed my go to set for thank yous.  I used the DSP 6″ X 6″ Paper stack, Playful Palette, page 174 and the matching Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, page 194.  I love these thinlits, you only have to surf the web to find tons of cards made with these and the Swirly Bird set.  You can get this as a bundle (142353) and save 10% by purchasing both as a bundle.

I love this new set with the vintage images.  So cool.  Here I used our classic inks with the aqua painter, page 180, and watercolor paper, page 175 to paint the classic truck.  I used real Red, soft sky, soft suede, Wild Wasabi and old Olive inks.  The card stock is Smokey Slate and stamped with same, using an image from Guy Greetings, page 114.  What man wouldn’t love this card for his birthday?  Banner is cut from the new Bunch of banner framelits, page 193.

You can find this set on page 145.  I love the sentiment on this card.  On the inside of the card it reads …Especially in my life.  I can never get enough of vintage and that is why I love this set.  The DSP is from the 6″ X 6″ paper stack, Playful Palette, page 174.  The colors I used on the butterfly were Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, and Flirty Flamingo.  I did use the Wink of Stella clear pen, page 181, on the butterfly.  Basic Black is layer after Very Vanilla on a Peekaboo Peach card base.  I did fussy cut the butterfly.  Hope you like it!

I got the inspiration for this card from Esther at Stampin Star Creations in the UK.  She is one of our demonstrators across the sea and I loved the way she created this card and so I cased pretty much all of it from her.  Everything on this card is created using the Swirly Bird set, page 152.  It is just amazing to me what can be done with this set.  The fishes absolutely blew me away.  She made those with the leaves.  I also like her idea of layering the vellum over the top of the water.  Thank you so much Esther for your inspiration and sharing your creation with us.

I created this card with the set, Bunch of Blossoms, page 69, that also comes as a bundle (142345), with the matching punch.  You can build up your flowers as I have in this post or you can stamp them, two step.  Either way they are lovely.  You can make a variety of flowers and the sentiments in this set are an extra added bonus.  The washi Tape can be found on page 179 and is called Playful Palette.

I know, isn’t this the cutest little fox you have ever seen?  You are going to see plenty of little forest animals this new catalog year.  This set is called Foxy Friends and can be found on page 57.  There is an entire two page spread just on this set with the matching punch.  You can get this set and punch at a discount if you buy them as a bundle (142326).
That is what I did and used both to cut out my little fox.  Everything is there for you, it’s a real no-brainer.  See all the different animals you can make with this set and the punch.  Unbelievable!  The sentiment I got from the new set Flourishing Phrases, page 49.  I used the DSP, A Little Foxy paper stack on page 174.

I guess by now you must know that I purchased all the vintage sets in the new catalog.  I am so into vintage.  Here I combined the sets, In This World, page 145, with Gorgeous Grunge, page 123.  I used soft Suede, Early Espresso and Smokey slate inks.  I used the Naturals DSP, 174, for the background on the base card.  This is another great masculine card…….do you agree?

I created this card for the SUO challenge on Splitcoaststampers.  I used the stamp sets from Number of Years, page 136, Birthday Fiesta, page 10, and a Carry over from last year, Build a Birthday, page 25, all in the new Annual catalog.  In addition, I used the matching dies that go with these sets, including a little fussy cutting.  I wanted to stick with our patriotic colors, Real Red, Pacific Point and Whisper White, both regular and thick card stock.
I am so excited over all of the new stuff in the new catalog, so much to create with.  Hope you like it.

This is another hostess set that you can get if you have a party, your house or mine.  This image is from the stamp set Pun Intended, page 200.  This is one of those sets that are so versatile that you could go on forever creating with just this one set.  Again great images and wonderful sentiments.  I used the Thinlits Die, Sunburst, page 193, and the DSP is from the Pop Of Pink Series, page 172.  I also used the gold foil paper, page 175, and the gold satin ribbon, page 178.  What sets this card off is the new layering framelits, page 193 that contain interchangeable plain squares and scalloped squares.  On this card I used both.

One of my favs.  You might be surprised to know that I just purchased this set, even though it was featured in the Occasional catalog that just retired.  When I saw that it was being carried over, I jumped for joy and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.  I know now I will have at least another year to play with it.

Using the set, Swirly Birds, page 152 in the AC, I made these kites with our new in-colors, Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugar Plum.  Don’t you just love these two colors together?  I sponged soft Sky for the background and added the white sequins to step it up a bit.  In addition, I used The fine Glue Tip pen to highlight the Kites.  It sort of muted the colors but I do like the effect.  I used the DSP paper Stack, Playful Palette, page 174.  The sentiment is from the set, All About Everything, a FREE give away that came our with the May Paper Pumpkin.

01. June 2016 · Comments Off on Stepping It Up With Affectionately Yours · Categories: Cards

Designed team member – Jennifer Frost

This year I’ve welcomed a number of participants to my monthly cardmaking workshops who are brand new to stamping. As a consequence I’ve been changing my approach to these sessions by offering designs that will suit beginner skill levels, but that can also be stepped up for my more experienced participants. I thought it would be fun to share with you a card idea that goes from simple to special by adding a host of subtle elements. Take a closer look and perhaps give some of these ideas a try for your next project!

JenniferFrostCorporatePostMayPhoto1 Take 2

My designs today feature the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Papers (item 141632), which will be available for purchase tomorrow in the brand, new annual catalog! Both versions start with a folded Whisper White card base (item 100730).

JenniferFrostCorporatePostMayPhoto2 Take 2 no logo

For the beginner’s version I’ve layered some of the patterned paper on the base. The butterfly silhouette was cut from a square of Whisper White Cardstock using the Elegant Butterfly Punch (item 127526) and layered over the floral pattern with Stampin’ Dimensionals (item 104430).  I’ve stamped the Sunburst Sayings (item 140725) sentiment in Night of Navy ink (item 126970) on a Crumb Cake Cardstock (item 120953) banner and adhered this beneath the butterfly to finish.

JenniferFrostCorporatePostMayPhoto3 take 2

To step up the finished design I’ve added a few It’s My Party Enamel Dots (item 140554) for a fun pop of color to complement the yellow tones in the floral pattern. I also embossed the white panel around the butterfly using the Floral Affection Textured Embossing Folder (item 141713), which lends subtle interest to the project. For the sentiment in this version, I’ve heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (item 109132) on Night of Navy Cardstock (item 100867) versus the more basic stamping approach in the first version.

To finish I’ve bumped up the textural component with a little White Baker’s Twine bow (item 124262).

I hope you’ve enjoyed these ideas and that they inspire you to ‘step up’ your next project!

We made this card at my camp on Saturday for Father’s Day.  I used the copper embossing powder on the Anchor and sentiment which are from the set, Guy Greetings carried over to the new catalog.  The other images are from “By the tide,” which is being retired at the end of the month.  In side the card we used the sentiments from the may Paper Pumpkin set that has all the different names if your are giving it to Brother, Son, Grandpa, etc.  The technique I used on this card is the Watercolor wash on Shimmery Card Stock.

I am in love with the new in-colors.  Here I also used Dapper Denim to complete my card.  The set is Grateful Bunch, page 94 in the new AC.  However, it is a set that is being carried over from the old AC.  It does have a matching punch but I did fussy cut the bigger daisies and added the Bright Sequin embellishments.  I added the fine tip glue pen in the center of each daisy to make it POP!

This is one of the nicest sets in the new upcoming catalog.  Pop of Paradise is another versatile set with both images and sentiments and can be used in a variety of ways.  This card I created also has some of the Botanical Blooms, also carried over to the new catty.  There are no thinlits with this set but it is easy to fussy cut the leaves if you want to add a little demension, as I have here.  I used the new incolor, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Very Vanilla.

Artisan Design Team member:

With June just around the corner, I’ve got Father’s Day on my mind. It’s a holiday that many paper crafters struggle with, as masculine cards can be a challenge for us all!

One of my favorite stamp sets for occasions like this is Guy Greetings (item 137178), and I’m SO glad to see that it’s not on the retiring list! I wanted to share some cards with you to inspire you to create for the men in your life. With that said, I’m also a big believer in first impressions, and that’s what your envelope is for—so let’s fancy that up a bit, shall we??

When I found my much-loved Typeset Designer Series Paper (item 133704) on the retiring list this year, I decided I was going to work to use it all before it expired. I really wanted to give it some extra love one last time! It’s a brilliant vintage, classic, neutral paper and it pairs so well with the fabulous vintage images in Guy Greetings. Using the Envelope Punch Board (item 133774), I whipped up an envelope with one of the sheets to add an extra-special touch.

Many of us give gift cards to the men in our life because (let’s face it!) they can be a bit difficult to buy for. Luckily, the measurement table on the Envelope Punch Board goes all the way down to gift card size! Using the beautiful striped paper in the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (item 138435), I created a tiny, little envelope. (Tip: If you don’t like the other side of the paper—I found the florals on the other side decidedly unmasculine!—you can cut and score two pieces of paper and glue them back-to-back to create your choice of print for the inside.)

A belly band perfectly decorates the gift and holds the envelope closed without adhesive, and you can decorate both sides!

While you’ve got your Designer Series Paper Stack and your Envelope Punch Board out, you may as well create one more. This fabulous nautical card and envelope are a perfect pair!

Square cards and envelopes are a nice change from rectangles for an extra-special touch. And don’t forget—metallics are manly, too!

I hope these projects inspired you today to create for your fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons, and to use your favorite Designer Series Paper and Envelope Punch Board to make a beautiful first impression!

Cheers!

We made this card at our Friday night club.  It is a large stamp from the new catalog to be released on the 1st of June.  Please contact me if you need one.  On this one I used Crushed Curry and Emerald Envy.  In addition, I used the metallic sequin emellishments.  The corners were cut out with the Curvy Corner Trio punch.  This punch is retiring and you can still get it on the retiring list through the end of May.

Every couple of months we get together with with our downlines and sidelines.  We discuss and exchange ideas for our businesses and we have a blast!  We all love the shoe box type swap but we also do regular swaps too.
The shoe box is where everyone designs a card, and they provides all the pieces, etc., for those participating, to make that card.  Each Demo brings their own glue and scissors and goes home with tons of samples which they made.
If you think this is something you would like to do, then please join my team.  It’s a wonderful way to socialize with others that love doing what we do.  Whether you are a hobby crafter, and want it to pay for your supplies, or if you want to be your own boss, and make it into a profitable business.  You decide.
Here are some of the samples from my downline:
