Happy birthday to us! March 2018 is Paper Pumpkin’s 5th anniversary, and along with celebrating five amazing years of creating and sharing together, we also wanted to find a way to say thank you to our friends with an amazing March kit which includes a fantastic, FREE gift—a pack of beautiful wood embellishments.
Because this is such a special anniversary for Paper Pumpkin, a lot of love went into creating this kit, and we hope you’re as crazy about it as we are. Its vintage floral design with seed packet envelopes is a first for Stampin’ Up! and we have to say—the Paper Pumpkin team just about fell out of their chairs when they first saw it. It’s uniquely beautiful, collectible, and almost sure to go down in Paper Pumpkin history as an all-time customer favorite!
So don’t wait another minute! Watch the monthly unboxing video, pour yourself some tea, then unwind while you make these cards and bask in their vintage vibe.

Kit Features

Kit Contents
Besides the exclusive stamp set and Early Espresso ink spot, each May Good Things Grow kit contains 8 card bases, 8 card panels, 8 envelopes, 4 die-cut element sheets, 1 laser-cut element sheet, 1 sticker strip sheet, 4-1/2 yds. purple ribbon, 16 yds. white linen thread, 16 antique brass brads, 12 pink pearls (in 2 sizes), 12 purple pearls (in 2 sizes), 4 purple pearls, 275 dimensionals, and 100 adhesive dots.

Alternate Uses

Alternate Samples
If you’re new to Paper Pumpkin, you may not know that our suggested projects and instructions are just the beginning of what you can do with our fun kits. Feel free to break the mold and try something entirely new, like our fresh and lovely Hello card made using Crumb Cake Cardstock.

Alternate Sample 1
Our concept artist adhered a designed panel from the March kit and a Fresh Fig Cardstock banner to the card front. She then added a stamped Whisper White Cardstock panel spattered with a bit of Fresh Fig ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends. She finished by popping up the panel and sentiment with dimensionals and tying with a White Baker’s Twine bow doubled up with Linen Thread. This card is truly easy to make, and who wouldn’t love receiving it from a friend?

Alternate Sample 2
This card’s sweet floral centerpiece was created with kit elements, Crumb Cake Cardstock branches (made using the Big Shot and the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies), and wooden embellishments included with this very special fifth anniversary kit. Finish it off with a Baker’s Twine bow and a few pink pearls and you have what may be one of the prettiest Mother’s Day cards ever.
We created this last card by adhering one of the card panels included with the kit to Powder Pink Cardstock; we then layered over it with a Vellum Cardstock rectangle stamped with a heart in Whisper White Craft ink.

Alternate Sample 3
We finished with die-cut flowers, wooden elements, and a banner made using the Birthday Banners Stamp Set and cut using the Big Shot and the Bunch of Banners Framelits Dies. (The inks used to stamp the banner are Fresh Fig and Whisper White Craft.)

Samples using the Free Gift

Free Gift Samples
This post wouldn’t be complete without showing off a few card samples made using the wooden elements our Paper Pumpkin subscribers received for FREE with this month’s anniversary kit.

Free Gift Sample 1
The Happy Birthday card is made from Fresh Fig Cardstock and features a scalloped circle cut from Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack using the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits. Embellish the card with elements from the kit, the free wooden embellishments, and a banner made using the cute Pear Pizzazz-striped paper from the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper. Such a pretty card. You could make multiples of this one and keep them on hand so you’re never caught without a handmade birthday card to give to a friend!

Free Gift Sample 2
If you want to have crazy fun with the wooden elements, try painting them as we did with Whisper White Craft ink mixed with a few colored ink drops. Add an embossed panel made using Pool Party Cardstock, the Big Shot, and the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Don’t forget the cheerful-looking banners in Melon Mambo Cardstock and Peekaboo Peach Cardstock stamped in Peekaboo Peach ink—they really make the card pop. Finally, stamp the sentiment (from the Window Shopping Stamp Set) in Pool Party ink on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, add it to the card front, then finish with a sprinkle of Rhinestone Basic Jewels. This card might take a little time to make, but it sure is worth the effort!

Free Gift Sample 3
Finally, this beautifully understated card (a perfect masculine card, by the way!) was created using Crumb Cake Cardstock. Our artist layered the card front with a designed panel from the kit, a Whisper White Cardstock piece, and a Very Vanilla Cardstock piece stamped in Crumb Cake ink. She then added lots of warm-looking wooden elements and a Linen Thread bow for an extremely versatile look that could be adapted for many occasions.

I really love this set, Picture Perfect Birthday, pg 5 of the OC.  It is so versatile.  As you can see from previous postings I have gotten a lot of use from this set.  I used the embossing folder, Simple Stripes Textured Impressions for the back ground and rolled LemonLime Twist Ink over the embossing folder before sending it through the Big Shot.  I also used the beautiful 1/4″ Ombre Lemon Lime Twist ribbon, pg 198 of the AC.  In addition, I used the Light Green Glimmer paper, pg 37, OC backing the Stitched Shapes circle, pg 214, AC. Colors used in the image were Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist.

On this card, I used 2 stamp sets, Waterfront, pg 48 of the OC and Colorful Season, pg 147 in the AC.  I used the Layering Oval framelits, pg 213, AC to highlight the Palm Trees in the Waterfront set.  I used Tranquil Tide ink, Crumb Cake and Marina Mist for the water.  The sentiment if from Colorful Seasons and the Beach chair is cut out with the matching Seasonal Layers, pg 216 AC.  Both of these sets work very well together.

One Stamp Set, Six Cards!
Note: The Stampin’ Up! products used in this post are identified in bold (with an item number) and are available through your demonstrator or by visiting our online store at www.stampinup.com. Be sure to select your country from the dropdown menu at the top of the screen for accurate pricing and availability.
Today I want to show you how to create six different cards out of one stamp set with a few additional supplies. The Perennial Birthday Stamp Set (item 146850) is excellent for that because it offers six different sentiments. Plus, it has filigree flowers. It’s THE perfect stamp set!
These cards are all about stamping; the flowers look amazing on the Whisper White Cardstock (item 106549)!
I made the square tag for the bottom card using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (item 145372) and the Big Shot (item 143263). The Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item 143231) adds a wonderful 3D effect.
I used the following ink colors to stamp my cards: Smoky Slate (item 137179), Dapper Denim (item 141394), Pool Party (item 126982), Peekaboo Peach (item 141398), and Melon Mambo (item 126948). Then, I added a few dabs of color using Stampin’ Write Markers! (The Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes (item 145632) look like little dewdrops, don’t you think?)
At the bottom of the card, I colored the stamped image with markers (since markers allow you to use different colors). Don’t you love those little dewdrops?
I punched a hole in the bottom card using the 2″ Circle Punch (item 133782), then arranged the flowers around the circle. This is where the Iridescent Sequins (item 144212) go.
As you see, there are endless ways of arranging the flowers and sentiments! On the bottom card, I stamped the sentiment on an extra strip of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the leaves under the strip. I then arranged the flowers around the sentiment.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these projects, and that I’ve inspired you to make your own cards with the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set!

I got the idea for this card from another Demostrator, Priscilla Ivler, from Stampin’ Connection.  Thank you Priscella for your inspiration.

I did change the card around a little.  I used the DSP Myths & Magic, pg 37 of the OC. The stamp set is Magical Day, same page. In addition, I fussy cut the soldier from the DSP.  I used the dies, same page, to cut out the Dragon and the Mermaid.   The sentiment is embossed in white on the DSP paper.  I used the Brick embossing folder, page 210 AC, for the background.  To color the images, I used Light and dark Blends. pg  30 OC, Pool Party on the Dragon and Night of Navy & Ivory on the mermaid.  I layered Rich Razzelberry CS in back of the brick.

This is one of my favorite techniques when designing cards with Flowers.  For this card I used the set Amazing You pg 16 of the SAB catalog.  I stamped the image in Tranquil Tide and then colored it with pool party.  I then used a blender pen to blend in the tranquil tide ink already on the flower.  I fussy cut just the top of the flower out and glued it  on top of the original image.  I added a Gold faceted Gem, pg 197 AC.  I used the Stitched Framelits to cut out the whisper white CS, page 214 AC and the regular Oval Framelits, same page, for the Crushed curry CS.  The DSP is Whole Lot of Lovely, pg 188 AC.  Celebrate is cut out with the Big Shot, pg 209 AC and the die used is from the SAB catalog, page 17.  The Stamp set you can get FREE with a $50 purchase and the Framelits you can get FREE for a $100 purchase in product from either the Annual Catalog or the Occasions catalog.

I love this set and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.  The stamps, Magical Day, page 37 of the OC and the matching Framelit Dies, Magical Mates, can be purchased as a bundle saving 10% for both.  I designed this card using the Myths & Magic DSP, same page, and colored the images with our new Blends, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay, pg 30.  In addition, I used Rich Razzleberry ink for the sentiment. This is another one of those stamp sets and matching dies that you will have so much fun using.  Hope you like it.

19. March 2018 · Comments Off on Brusho Butterfly · Categories: Cards · Tags: , , , , ,

I created this card using our new Brushos, pg 26, and the new stamp set, Beautiful Day, same page.  I used Watercolor paper, pg 194 and Frog Tape (non SU) to mask off the edges and create a border.  I then embossed the butterfly with our copper embossing powder, page 201 of the AC, and then added the Prussian Blue & Moss Green Brusho to the butterfly.  The In addition, I cut out the sentiment with the Thinlit Dies, Celebrate You, in the Sale-A-Bration catalog, pg17 using our Copper foil, page 194 of the AC.  Before adding the sentiment I spritzed the paper (with the mask still attached) with water and then sprinkled Yellow and Moss green Brusho to the background of the card. Please contact me if you need further instructions.

Erin Go Bragh! to all my Irish friends and family and those who wish they were Irish on this glorious day!  We will be enjoying our annual Corn Beef and Cabbage meal this evening with family.

I always feel that SU does not have enough St Pat’s stamps, but as long as they have the sentiment, Happy St. Patrick’s Day in the Teeny Tiny Wishes, page 36 of the AC, I am happy to improvise.  In this card I used the Party Pandas, page 15 of the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  The DSP is from the Whole Lot of Lovely, pg 188 AC.  Car Stock is Whisper White, both regular and thick.  The Shamrock is made from Tranquil Tide CS.

I have already used this set so much.  It is so awesome and so versatile.  You can find it on pg 32 of the OC.  It also has the matching framelits Dies (same page) and if you combine them both you can get a 10% discount on the bundle.  It contains 19 dies and is such a fun bundle,  I used Early Espresso, silver foil for the bottle caps and burlap ribbon.  The DSP is True Gentlemen, pg 45 of the OC. In addition, I used Tranquil Tide for the sentiment and stamping the stars.

I got the idea for this card from a demonstrator, Donna Wicks.  The Bamboo is cut from DSP, Color Theory Design paper stack, pg 187 AC.  The stamp set is from the Sale-A-Bration catalog, pg 15 Party Pandas.  I used Very Vanilla CS and the tall grass is from the set, Fabulous Flamingo, pg 177 in the AC.  I used Old Olive and Basic Black Archival Ink.  Thank you Donna for the inspiration.

10. March 2018 · Comments Off on Sympathy card · Categories: Cards · Tags: , , ,

It is always a good idea to keep a Sympathy card on hand in case you need it.  I thought that this set, Waterfront, pg 48 of the OC, was suitable to this type of card.  I used shimmery paper for the images and the DSP is Delightful Daisy pg 189 in the AC.  Colors used were Tranquil Tide, Smokey Slate and pool party.  The stamps give the images a watercolor look which is what I love about the set.

This set, Half Full #144999, is a set designed by a demonstrator who just hit her Million dollar in sales, Linda Bauwin.  Congratulations to Linda!   I love the set and soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.  I used whisper white cs and colored the background with Soft Sky.  I used Rich Razzleberry for the wine and Crumb Cake for the rest.  The images were stamped with Memento Black because the stamping’ blends are alcohol based markers.  Also, I used Smoky Slate watered down for the shadowing.  Hope you like it.

This is turning out to be one of my favs.  The set, Magical Day, pg 37 in the OC, with matching framelits dies can be bought together as a bundle thereby saving 10% on the cost.  I used the Myths & Magic DSP on same page and I used Stampin’ Blends, page 31 OC, in Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate and Bermuda Bay.  I plan on using this set a lot since it has matching dies and there is no fussy cutting. Hoot Hoot!

This set, Bubble over, page 32 OC, is so much fun to play with.  There are 17 stamps to the set and the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits have 19 dies.  You can buy this set as a bundle and get 10% off.  I used Shimmery White CS, pg 194 in the AC.  I also used Brusho, pg 26 OC, sprinkled on the background and then spritzing it lightly with water.  Ink color is Dapper Denim.

Talk about a masculine card.  This set, Truly Tailored, pg 45 of the OC is by far the best choice for man cards.  From Birthdays to Father’s Day to just love you Dad days.  You can get this set with a discount by purchasing the bundle, set and matching punch same page.  AND the DSP is to die for, also on pg 45.  You can even fussy cut some of the images out of the DSP and add them as embellishments to your card.  So versatile that you will get many uses from this Suite that keeps on giving.

This set is turning out to be one of my go to sets from the OC, Picture Perfect Birthday, page 5.  I used the Stamparatus to perfectly place the images and the colors I used were Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pacific Point.  The background paper is from the DSP Stack Tutti Frutti 6X6, page 29 of the OC. I used both Whisper White regular and Heavy card stock for my base card.

This is one of my favorite Thinlit sets, Celebrate you pg17, from SAB.  I embossed the butterfly, from Beautiful Day, pg 26 OC, with Copper embossing powder.  I used watercolor paper and filled the image with water.  I then sprinkled Brusho color, pg 20 OC, on the water and used an aqua painter to move the color around.  Colors I used were Brilliant Red, Yellow and Gamboge.  After the image was dried, I sprinkled yellow on the front of the card and gently spritzed with water to provide the background.  I selected Basic Black card stock for the sentiment and cut it out with the Big shot, pg 209 of the AC. Multipurpose adhesive sheets, pg 203, AC, were used to adhere the sentiment to the card front.

I thought this was a perfect set to use with the SU Blends.  The set is Bird Banter, page 42 of the OC.  The DSP is Painted with Love, pg 19 of the OC.  The ribbon is Love Mini Tinsel, same page, and the card base is Thick Whisper White.  Colors I used were Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight.

I am in love with the DSP, Painted with Love, page 10 of the OC.  It is my fav paper ever.  I used this as background on this card stamped with last year’s stamp, Bloomin’ Love, page 88 of the AC.  I used Whisper white card stock and cut out the hearts from the DSP using the Big shot Sweet & Sassy Framelits on page 214 AC.  In addition, I embellished the front of the card with the Metallic Enamel shapes, page 196 of AC.  I used the Framelit to cut out the banner from the set Large Numbers Framelits, page 215 of AC.

I absolutley LOVE this stamp set, Magical Day, page 37 of the OC.  Right now you can get both the stamp set and the matching framelit dies, same page, for a 10% discount.  I used Bermuda Bay for the background that I dry embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder, page 210 of the AC.  I used our new Rich Razzelberry SU Blends to color the mermaid and the seahorse.  I stamped the image with Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White Card Stock.  The gorgeous background of the mermaid is the DSP, Myths and Magic, same page in the OC.  For embellishments I used the Glitter & Clear epoxy shapes, page 33 OC.

It is my first born’s birthday today.  She is such an incredible person and I wanted to use this space to tell her so.  What an AMAZING cook she is.  I just spent time with her in TN and she cooked me the most incredible gourmet meals.

I used Brusho on this card.  This time I shook the Brusho out on a large block and then spritzed with water to create this background. I moved the card stock over the block and picked up color from the block.  I loved the way it came out.  I used Brusho Yellow, Gamboge, and Brilliant Red colours.
I colored the flowers from the stamp set, Amazing You, page 16 of the SAB catalog, with our SU markers, Calypso Coral and Peek-a-boo Peach, and Daffodil delight, and Crushed Curry.  The embellishments in the flowers centers are Gold faceted Gems.
Right now through March 31 you can get this stamp set FREE by purchasing $50 of product.  In fact if you spend $100 in product, you can get the coordinating Thinlit dies FREE.   See page 17, SAB for details. The possibilities are endless with these products.
