It is always a good idea to keep a Sympathy card on hand in case you need it.  I thought that this set, Waterfront, pg 48 of the OC, was suitable to this type of card.  I used shimmery paper for the images and the DSP is Delightful Daisy pg 189 in the AC.  Colors used were Tranquil Tide, Smokey Slate and pool party.  The stamps give the images a watercolor look which is what I love about the set.

This card was created using the SAB set, Avant Garden, page 5 of the SAB catalog.  I cased this card from Sandi McIver and thank you Sandi for the inspiration.  This technique is called “Black Magic” and I really love it.  You first stamp the images in craft white ink.  Once it is dry I added our White watercolor pencil and then added Melon Mambo, Dafodil Delight, and Old Olive pencils, page 24, OC.  I outlined each image with a white gel pen.

If you rec’d your Holiday catalog, you can find this set on page 24.  If you do not have a holiday catalog, please contact me and I will get one to you.  It has the matching thinlit dies where you can get a bundle price and save 10%.  Fantastic deal and such a wonderful set.  Has great images and also nice sentiments.  The bell is from the set Christmas Magic, page 22 and the sentiment is from the set Reason for the Season, page 34 in the Annual Catalog.  I used Crystal Effects on the bell and water colored the deer.

10. July 2016 · Comments Off on SUO Challenge – Delight in Nature · Categories: Cards · Tags: , , ,

This card I created for the SUO #152 Challenge.  I was to share a project that features something delightful about nature that you can create with Stampin’ Up! products.  So this is what I came up with.  I love anything to do with the Ocean, especially since I live on the coast.
On this card I used a water wash, on Shimmery card stock, for the background of Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo.  The Stamp sets I used are Seaside Shore, page 93, From Land to Sea, page 98, and Bear Hugs, page 107.  I stamped the images on watercolor paper, page 175, and used an aqua Painter, page 180 to color them. I finished off with a white gel pen (retired) to embellish.  Hope you like it!

This is one of the cutest sets in the hostess section, Page 198-201 in the New Annual Catalog (AC).  You cannot buy this set but you can get it at a huge discount if you host a workshop or plan a book party.  Not only are the images darling but the sentiments are awesome too.  I used the new in-color Flirty Flamingo for the elephant and the background is Soft Sky.  I also used the new in-color enamel shapes, page 177 and the Background DSP is from the In-color DSP paper pack.

I used an aqua painter on this image from the set, Sweetbriar Rose, page 115 in the AC. I stamped it onto watercolor paper with Stazon ink.  The DSP on the background is from Timeless Elegance page 143.

My WA ladies & Gentlemen asked me to make a card for our Instructor for Christmas.  They usually take up a collection for her and they knew I was a card maker.  So this is what I made for her.  It is a 5″X7″ because we need enough room for all to sign the card.  We usually present it to her at our Christmas Party held at Alhambra Hall every year!  Hope y’all like it!  AND.. in case you are wondering, no one that I do WA with knows about my blog so she will not see this. LOL

I have always liked stamp sets that contain fruits and veggies like our Market Fresh set, page 116.  They are so interesting and so much fun to watercolor.  Here I used watercolor paper and aqua painters, page 163.  The inks are Elegant Eggplant and Mossy Meadow.  The DSP is from the Regals Collection, page 144.  Can’t get enough of this paper.  Hope you like it.

You’re Sublime is a great set, page 45.  The neat thing about this set is that it includes not only the images but the sentiments.    It can be used for just about any occasion.  I love to water color these images but I have also used regular markers too.  Here I used Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler.  I used the white gel pen for the bubbles and white corrugated paper.

Can’t get enough of this stinkin’ cute frog.  I used the DSP stack, Pretty Petals found on page 144 of the AC and water colored the frog with Old Olive classic ink and Crumb cake marker.  I used the aqua painter and watercolor paper.  I realized when searching for paper for the background that I have now gone through an entire stack of  6 X 6 paper.  Time to reorder.  It is so cool!  Some of my favorite colors too!

I love this stamp set, Market Fresh, page 116 in the new AC.  Here I used Elegant Eggplant and Cucumber crush.  I colored it on watercolor paper with the aqua painter and did the background in Pool Party.  The border was made with the stamp set, Tin of cards, page 110.  The background is embossed with Boho Chic, page 174.  I used the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, page 149, to outline the image.   I would love to hear what you think.
